Artopay

 Some of my earliest childhood memories , include my Dad telling me about the stories of different sorts of rocks , mountains, terrains , banking , farming , seasons, architecture , acoustics & much more. Yes , that’s the kind of spectrum that I was exposed to. This only made me perennially curious about everything. I guess that was the foundation of my eternal quest to seek knowledge. And as I write this today , I humbly accept , that I am an artist who is seeking art & will continue to do so.

Over the period of past several years of my studies in Fashion Designing, Journalism & effective communication, there were too many anecdotes that I have gathered. In fact for a major part of my initial designing career, by virtue of doing a lot of research,  I have had an opportunity to share knowledge as a  faculty in designing & textiles. In retrospect, that may have set the precedent for the work that I am doing today. It was just the matter of realizing that one can’t take the “teacher” out of me 😛 

Assuming you must have read my bio in the profile , my career trajectory does show an interesting graph . Faculty in Fashion Designing & textiles moving on to fashion journalism with a further profile of Talent & Celebrity Manager with The Times of India group managing the National & International pageants of Miss India & its subsidiaries moving further to doing the Public Relations & Branded content to managing marketing for a children’s newspaper. At the risk of sounding like someone who was unclear about the career trajectory, allow me to assure you that these were very conscious choices that I made . Simply put , I followed my heart to pursue the passion.

Artopia was the next obvious & organic move that was perhaps waiting to take shape. Earlier, I made art pieces but those were purely a random act to give in to that artistic whim. It was only when I started conceptualizing each piece, did I realize that I had found my Ikigai. That was my moment as you may identify as “calling” .

Artopia is a happy place for art connoisseurs. Every piece that i work upon, is only & only when i feel like working on that project. Artopia is because ‘I feel to do’ &  not because ‘I have to do’. The moment you understand the difference between the two, you & me will be on the same wavelength to understating why & how the projects in Artopia get articulated. There is so much that I wish to express but there is so little that social media platforms allow you to. This is rightfully my space to express why an artist is still seeking art & why Artoipa is just a Happy place for art connoisseurs !
